In a villa with several invited guests, a naval treaty of national importance is mysteriously stolen from Navy admiral’s safe. A detective is put in charge of the investigation to find what was stolen and get his hands on the culprit. Putting all those present under pressure, and thanks to his instincts and psychological prowess, he manages to unravel the mystery and unmask the thief.
« The film is undoubtedly superior to the previous two attempts at the giallo genre Corte d’Assise and The Man With the Claw. The entire investigation, for example, up to the discovery of the thief was skilfully executed by Bonnard. (…) The acting is theatrical but effective. » [F. Sacchi / Corriere della Sera / 03/01/1934]
