An early effort from director Brunello Rondi, Later, Claire, Later… is a thinly veiled critique of class inequality revolving around a rather dysfunctional family. The title character is bumped off early in the first reel and from then on we’re left guessing who would want to have killed her and why? As the story unfolds, and the family unit further disintegrates, we’re introduced to a lookalike of Claire whose sole purpose, so it seems, is to smoke out the real killer and bring them to justice.

While there is an official censor certificate in the archives, confirming it was approved for public consumption, there seems to be a complete lack of  promotional material available. No locandine, no lobby cards… Curiously, while it may or may not have played in cinemas here in Italy, it was definitely picked up for American distribution and given the thoroughly misleading title Run, Psycho, Run.

Availability

A DVDR copy (of what I’m guessing was a VHS screening cassette) was circulated in traders’ circles for a number of years, then last year (or the year before) Minerva, the legal rights holders, posted a new slightly better digital scan on their Youtube channel, Kult Movie.
